Since the 1960's Martin has been one of the country's most influential folk musicians and some of his collaborations have been legendary: from the Watersons and Dave Swarbrick through Steeleye Span and lately The Imagined Village. The RNLI Welly Walk is designed to appeal to a wide audience of supporters, and will take place on Saturday 21 April 2012. This challenging 21 mile walk from Scarborough to Whitby takes in Yorks' stunning coastline. It will cost £20.00 to enter and all walkers will receive an RNLI Tshirt. All participants will also be asked to raise a minimum of £42 per individual or family group, which equates to the cost of a price of yellow wellies for one of our crew members. The RNLI Cycle is designed to appeal to a wide audience of supporters, and will take place on Saturday 21 April 2012. We have planned 2 distances to suit all tastes; 20 miles and 40 miles. Both routes take in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside. It will cost £16.00 to enter the 20 mile route and £18.00 to enter the 40 mile route. Entries include a free RNLI Tshirt to cycle in and all participants will also be asked to raise a minimum of £100 in sponsorship. Flipchart & Squeezebox is the creative partnership of Barnsley poet, broadcaster & comedian Ian McMillan and composer & accordionist Luke Carver Goss. The musicians will also be leading workshops over the weekend and will be appearing in a special Area 2 Showcase performance on the main stage.
