Hangar Dance 18th September 2010 As part of the BAC 100 Celebrations marking 100th anniversary of the birth of the aviation industry in the West of England taking place throughout 2010 The Helicopter Museum is hosting a special one night only Hangar Dance on the evening of September 18th 2010.
Doors will open at 7.30pm and guests will be able to dance the evening away to the swinging sounds of the 1940s and 1950s in an authentic aviation hangar surrounded by real historic aircraft. A licensed bar will available on the night
Classic American Quilts 13 March 31 October The museums collection of 240 American quilts is acclaimed as the finest of its type in Europe and the equal of many premier collections in the United States. Ranging from the 18th to early 20th centuries, these exuberant works of art and craft are visually bold, technically assured and often proudly patriotic.
In 2010, the museum is showcasing some of its stunning American quilts many rarely seen, due to their great size or fragility. This exhibition will also mark the production of a new, lavishly illustrated book on the museums world-renowned quilt collection.

The exhibition will show over 75 works from 48 artists - a whos who of contemporary British sculpture - from the New Bronze Age sculptors of the 1950s to current household names like Damien Hirst and Antony Gormley.
Crucible is a joint venture between Gallery Pangolin and Gloucester Cathedral. All of the works were made in Gloucestershire, by the talented craftsmen working at Pangolin Editions foundry in the Stroud valleys, or by artists from Gloucester Cathedral. The Cathedral itself is a great work of art made in Gloucestershire by local craftsmen.
The exhibition will take place throughout the building and grounds, including the crypt and cloisters.
